Who we are
Macayan Savings and Loans is an NGO based in the Philippines specializing in microfinance and social services for the urban poor. We are registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian organization. Macayan Savings Loans is a member of the Filipino Association of Foundations.
Based in Manila, Philippines, we reach out to several areas in Metro Manila and in other provinces. Every year, we help more than 10,000 urban poor Filipino families through financial and social assistance, giving them the chance to overcome poverty and become self-reliant.
We envision a financially inclusive world where all people hold the power to improve their lives.
More than 1.2 billion people around the world are unbanked and can’t access the financial services they need. Macayan Savings and Loans is an international nonprofit, founded in 1980 in Manila, with a goal to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive.
